Ellie and Ollie held their wedding reception at the wonderful Westwood Hotel, nr. Oxford. I’d met Ellie initially at a wedding fair at The Guildhall, Abingdon. I then went on to meet with both Ellie and Ollie on a couple of occasions so we could get to what was important to them for their wedding day. One thing they really didn’t want was anything by Robbie Williams.

Ellie & Ollie had arranged, in discussion with myself, the photographer and Merilyn (the wedding co-orinator at The Westwood Hotel) for me to set up in the main part of the room, on one side, near the Christmas Tree. This made for a bigger dance area (and boy did we need it!) and a nicer backdrop for the photos. It did, however, mean I couldn’t set up until the room was cleared from the wedding breakfast. But Ellie & Ollie had things for their guests to do in the other rooms as well as a photo session.

I’d made sure everyone gathered round in order to see and that the photographer was ready. Then we began… with the 1st dance, Kissing You by Des’ree from the film Romeo & Juliet.

Then it was into a bit of Soul and Motown with tracks from Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and the Temptations. Before moving into classics from Michael Jackson, The B-52’s, Barry White and even the Spice Girls. Intermixed with tracks from the current chart some R&B and Indie.

Ellie & Ollie had a great grasp of what their friends and family liked to dance to and had made great use of the online planner as well as the pre wedding meetings we’d had.

All too soon it was over and time to leave The Westwood Hotel. But it was another great night as the photos and videos hopefully show.

So if your getting married at, or having your reception at, The Westwood Hotel, then let’s an arrange an appointment to discuss your plans and what I can do for you…

Best wishes

Stephen
