I’d met Daniel & Joanne before the wedding and we’d had a long chat about what, exactly they were looking for and what was important to them. They wanted a good time with a party atmosphere and their guests to feel involved. They’d been busy with the online planner beforehand, picking out their favourite songs and songs they knew their guests would dance to. One thing was on the “Play Only If Requested” list – anything by the Vengaboys. Apparently the Best Man absolutely loved them!

Kingston Bagpuize House was somewhere that I hadn’t played before, so I arranged a site visit to check out logistics and set up areas before the big day.

Originally, Daniel and Joanne were having their whole wedding day in the marquee at Kingston Bagpuize House. But it turned out that the evening reception was held in the main house, in the drawing room. They had invited about 90 guests for the evening disco and we started of with the first dance, Elvis Presley’s Burning Love.

Daniel and Joanne requested tracks from Abba, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, Billy Joel, Dexy’s, Journey, Michael Jackson, S Club 7, Tiffany, Wham!, Whitney, A-Ha, Los Del Rio, Olly Murs, The Contours< The Foundations and Whitfield as well as The Mavericks for Joanne’s Mum and Dad. I also had quite a few requests such as Dirty Dancing, 2 Tone, Lionel Richie and the inevitable Venga Boys!

It was a great night, loads of dancing and all in the lovely venue that is Kingston Bagpipe House. I look forward to going back…
