The Grandstand, Phyllis Court Club, Henley on Thames.

Saturday 13th April, Oxfordshire Wedding Entertainment were booked and it was off to Henley for Georgie and Ed’s wedding in The Grandstand at Phyllis Court Club. They’d requested a low key affair and didn’t want “formality”. I was booked to play music for during the wedding breakfast and then on into the evening. When I arrived the wedding party and guest were all on a river cruise allowing plenty of time to set up.

During the wedding breakfast I played a selection of classical and instrumental tracks. I announced the cake cutting after the main course and the individual cakes were served to the guests as pudding.

Evening guests arrived for 8pm and it was onto the first dance. Well, traditional first dance it wasn’t! Georgie & Ed got all the kids to join them on the dance floor and then it was into Gangnam Style!

Georgie & Ed had made good use of the online planner to pick their favorite tunes and we’d had a Skype the week before to go over final details.

Music for the night was from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Take That, Robbie Williams, Beyonce, S Club 7, One Direction, Kesha, Kylie, Maroon 5, Paul Simon, Elvis and a bit of a floor filling Indie session toward the end with The Killers, Blur, Kings of Leon, Reef and The Stereophonics.

End of the night we slowed up with Wonderwall, Never Forget and Baywatch as the final song. A great night with lot’s of fun, laughter, singing and partying.
